700-pound Mexican Man Hopes to Stand for Wedding

Mexico — Manuel Uribe, who once weighed a half ton but has slimmed down to about 700 pounds, is now 43 years old. want to be able to stand on his own two feet to get married.
Interviewed at his home in northern Mexico, where he can still do little more than sit up on a bed, Uribe said more than two years of steady dieting have helped him drop about 550 pounds from his Guinness record weight of 1,235 pounds.
He hopes Guinness representatives will confirm in July that he holds a second title: The world's greatest loser of weight.
But Uribe is still unable to walk his fiancée, Claudia Solis, down the aisle.
Proudly showing off her sparkling engagement ring, Solis said life with a heavyweight is not always easy.
"I bathe him every day, and we get along very well," she said. "At times, yes, people say things ... that it's a fake relationship, but what we have is real."
Solis said her family initially opposed the match with Uribe, because her first husband, who was also obese, died of respiratory failure.
"They were worried about me being involved with another fat man, because they thought another husband would die on me," she said.
Uribe said his weight problem spiraled out of control after he moved to the United States for a few years in 1988 and indulged in a nonstop diet of junk food and soft drinks.
A botched liposuction that damaged his lymph nodes left him with giant tumors on both legs weighing a total of 220 pounds. The tumors are the main reason he is unable to walk.
"It is all because of the junk food," he said.
About two years ago, a team of doctors stepped in to help Uribe change his eating habits and tackle his extreme obesity.
Today he says he eats small portions of food five times a day, including chicken, ham, egg-white omelets, fruit and vegetables. Sitting in bed, Uribe exercises his arms with pull-ups and by pedaling with his hands.
Hoping his struggle will inspire others, he plans to launch the Manuel Uribe Foundation this year to educate people about nutrition and to combat obesity — a growing problem in Mexico.
Solis is focused more on the present. "It is a miracle he is still alive," she said.

Ouch! Why Women Feel More Pain !!!!!

Women feel more pain than men, studies have shown. New research reveals one reason why.
Women have more nerve receptors, which causes them to feel pain more intensely than men, according to a report in the October issue of the journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
On average, women have 34 nerve fibers per square centimeter of facial skin. Men average just 17.
"This study has serious implications about how we treat women after surgery as well as women who experience chronic pain," said Bradon Wilhelmi, a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and author of the study. "Because women have more nerve receptors, they may experience pain more powerfully than men, requiring different surgical techniques, treatments or medicine dosages to help manage their pain and make them feel comfortable."

Men's brain superior to Women's.

"Einstein's brain, however, was not exceptional in size or weight.Einstein's intelligence may have resulted from the unique structural property of his parietal lobes. ..."
"It seems possible, though, that a remark Ayn Rand oncemade will turn out to be right and some people simply do havebetter brains than others... "
I'm not a cerebral cortex specialist; but this seems quiteobvious to me.. It's sad, but true.. People are just notborn with equal abilities... That's how nature works.
Let's get to the facts... We can understand from Einstein'sbrain study; That the parietal lobes plays an importantrole in Methematical, Abstract, scientific abilities..
Then I found this on women's brains..It's clearly stated that:"Scientists working at Johns Hopkins University, recentlyreporting in the "Cerebral Cortex" scholarly journal, havediscovered that there is a brain region in the cortex, calledinferior-parietal lobule (IPL) which is significantly larger in menthan in women."
It's easy to jump to a conclusion; That Men "in general", havebetter scientific abilities.. I'm not talking about exceptions here.Marie Curie.. Or simply women that are just dedicated andmeticulous and get results.. I'm talking potentials.
All these researches are SHY to say that Women's brainsare just do not have these Scientific Mental abilities thatmen more commonly are born with.
Women Rest assured DO have other superior naturalabilities...........

Suicide Makes Dozens Sick...

TOKYO — A Japanese farmer who committed suicide by drinking pesticide vomited the poison at a hospital before he died, releasing toxic fumes that sickened more than 50 people, the hospital said Thursday.
Doctors were trying to pump the 34-year-old man's stomach when he threw up, spraying his rescuers with chloropicrin, causing 54 doctors, nurses and patients to develop breathing problems and eye sores.
Ten of them were hospitalized themselves, and 90 hospital personnel had to be called in to help with the emergency Wednesday night, said Tomoko Nagao, spokeswoman for the Red Cross Kumamoto Hospital in southern Japan.
The most severely injured was a 72-year-old pneumonia patient, whose condition worsened after exposure to the fumes, Nagao said. The hospital's emergency ward was closed and firefighters called in to decontaminate it.
The doctors were not wearing protective gear and were unprepared because the paramedics who brought the farmer to the hospital had not identified the pesticide, said a local police official, speaking on condition of anonymity because of protocol.
The incident came amid a string of suicides in Japan by people mixing household chemicals to create lethal fumes. Many bystanders in recent months have been sickened by fumes that escaped into adjoining rooms, apartments or homes.
Seishi Takamura, a doctor who treated the farmer, said he could not stop coughing after inhaling the fumes, which smelled like chlorine, Kyodo News agency reported.
Chloropicrin is a highly volatile pesticide with a pungent odor that can cause breathing difficulties and sometimes death when inhaled in large amounts.

Why does a week have seven days??

Do you know why does a week have 7 days.....

Have you ever stopped to wonder why there are seven days in a week??

As Seven isn't a particularly intuitive number. It's a prime, so can't be divided down, and doesn't even divide cleanly into 365, the use of seven for the days of the week seems unjustified.

So, why seven?

Let me tell you.....

Some people simply like to point to the Christian Bible: it says that a week has seven days, therefore it does (although it is interesting to note that there are also seven deadly sins - one for each day!).

The number seven has had mystical connotations in many ancient societies. We know that the ancient Babylonians used a seven day week. This brings us to what seems to be the most likely reason for the origin of the seven day week.

The Romans dedicated Sunday to the Sun, Monday to the moon, Tuesday to mars, Wednesday to Venus Thursday to Jupiter, Friday to Venus and Saturday to Saturn.
